FAQ

Q: What is the Chicken Tendon Extractor?

A: The Chicken Tendon Extractor is a two piece kitchen utensil designed to remove the tendons from chicken tenders. The design consists of the Gripper used to grab the tendon and the Extractor used to separate the tendon from the flesh.

Q: Chicken tenders have tendons?

A: Yes. Many people don’t know that all chicken tenders have tendons. Ever have a chicken tender and bite into a chewy piece of meat? That’s a tendon. The majority of tenders are actually just caught up chicken breasts which are less tender and juicy, and when tenders are used many restaurants do not remove them.

Q: I know about chicken tendons and have been removing them with the old fork and paper towel methodfor years. Why use the Chicken Tendon Extractor?

A: The key word here is Gripper. Anyone who has used the fork and paper towel can tell you how frustrating it is to use towel after towel as it has to be dry to work, so you must keep using a new one. Also even with a towel those tendons can be darn slippery. The Gripper allows you to get a tight grip that doesn’t let lose and lets you pull your way to victory pull after pull after pull. If the gripper gets gummed up with flesh just rinse of real quick and you are good to go again.

Q:The chicken tender tendon is too short to grip or there is no tendon to grip on my chicken tender?

A: While many chicken tenders have a nice long piece of tendon hanging out of them not all do. Even when they do we recommend prepping all your tenders by cutting along on side of them with a small knife about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch to give you something to grip on. Some tenders tendons are barely on the surface but you can tell the difference from the flesh.

Q: When I extract the tendons some chicken tenders split apart?

A: Some tenders will split apart with the tendon removed but this makes for the best tenders. A split apart tender has more surface area which means more surface for delicious breading. No one likes a really thick tender as you get poor meat to breading ratio.

Q: Where can I purchase the Chicken Tendon Extractor?

A: Currently we are finishing our molds and have a Kickstarter to fund production costs. When our first batches roll out they will be for sale on this website and hopefully shortly there after on Amazon.
